The historic building – a monument to  history

The impressive building of the Bremen Cotton Exchange, designed by renowned Bremen architect Johann Georg Poppe, was inaugurated in 1902 and is now a listed building. During the tour, you will usually explore the ornate mosaics in the entrance area, the imposing marble staircases with richly decorated railings, one of the inner courtyards, the two historic meeting rooms with their special atmosphere and the so-called arbitration room, where cotton reference material from more than 40 countries is stored. This is used in fiber testing to compare the quality of delivered cotton samples with reference samples from the country of origin. In addition, modern laboratory equipment ensures trouble-free trading when testing cotton samples. As a grand finale, you will usually enjoy the view from the tower room directly onto Bremen's market square, also known as “Bremen's living room.”
